That's why we offer all of our San Fernando Valley residential and commercial customers affordably priced alarm systems, attentive customer service, 24-hour alarm monitoring from Monitronics, home automation technology, and honest, expert advice concerning our large selection of security equipment. We also welcome general inquiries and are always willing to provide a free, on-site consultation and estimate at any the San Fernando Valley property. You can also contact your local law enforcement agency and request a premise security survey. Because burglary is a crime of opportunity, it's important to make it as difficult as possible for burglars to break into your home or business. One of the most effective deterrents to burglars is having an integrated security system. Beyond that, we recommend following the below safety tips:

  • If you recently moved in to your San Fernando Valley home or business, change out the key cylinders on your property's locks--you never know who may have a copy of the key.
  • Once your alarm system is installed, establish a routine for "closing up" your home or business. This includes locking all doors and windows, and ensuring that you arm your alarm before you leave.
  • Consider taking advantage of our integrated security systems, which offer a number of solutions to help busy parents or those constantly multi-tasking. Solutions include a door chime that reminds you to set your alarm; keychain remotes that allow you to easily arm and disarm your alarm from outside your property; and remote home automation which allows you to manage your alarm system as well as a variety of devices and appliances using a smartphone, tablet, or computer.
  • After installing a home alarm system at your Los Angeles or San Fernando Valley home, let burglars know by placing a yard sign and window decals where they can't be missed. This ensures they know you have an alarm system installed no matter their intended point of entry.
  • Strategically placed exterior lighting is a great way to make your San Fernando home or business a less inviting target. When exterior lighting is combined with timers, motion-activated sensors, and remote control, you can give the appearance that someone is at your property even when you're away, further deterring would-be burglars.
  • Leaving keys outside of your San Fernando Valley home is a very risky move. Instead, leave a spare with a trusted neighbor or take advantage of our keyless door locks and deadbolts, which can be added to our HomeTouch® home automation packages and remotely controlled using a smartphone, tablet, or computer. You can also engrave "Do Not Duplicate" on your keys.
  • Avoid leaving wallets, purses, laptops, and other valuables on counters where they can be easily seen from a window or sliding door; doing so can trigger an opportunistic break-in.
  • If you recently bought a new television, computer, stereo, or other valuable item, make sure you hide or destroy the packaging. This is especially true during the holiday months of December and January when, according to the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI), break-ins tends to rise.
  • Never leave tools or ladders outside your home as they can leave you vulnerable to burglary and theft.
  • If your home or business has external hinged doors, a burglar could easily remove the hinge pins, lift the door, and gain access to your home. To avoid this, consider investing in a different type of hinge or removing the the center screw from each side of the hinges and inserting a metal pin (or headless screw) on either side. That way, even if the pins are removed, the door will remain bolted to the frame.
  • While an emergency release lever on your electric garage door opener seems like a good idea, it can be easily used as a point of entry by burglars and other intruders. That's why we recommend cutting the cord attached to the lever so it is short enough to be used only from the inside of your garage. Alternatively, we sell and install garage sensors and surveillance cameras which can be used to detect unauthorized garage door movement and activity.
  • When traveling, use an office address and cellphone number on your luggage tags as some criminals have been known to troll airports looking for homes to target while their owners are away. Similarly, remove any address information from your car when parked at an airport parking lot--this eliminates the chance that a person breaking into your car finds your address and targets your home while you're away.
  • If you see signs of a forced entry at your home, DO NOT enter. Go to a trusted neighbors' home to call for help, taking note of any strange or out-of-place vehicles while you wait.
  • NEVER put yourself in harm's way. If a neighbor's security alarm is triggered, stay in your home and be aware of your surroundings--leave the investigating to the police.
